Zoo has numerous activities for children. Stop for lunch at the refreshment stand by the Panda house. Food is excellent with fast food menu. Burgers, dogs, fries & chicken strips. Zoo has come a long way from its dismal days & displays for the animals in the 70s & 80s. It’s getting there but with a city the size of Atlanta, it can still do better.

4 hours is plenty. It is a small zoo and that’s enough time to see everything and even ride the train and the carousel. I agree that the snakes, etc., can be skipped if pressed for time, but you won’t be pressed unless you find somewhere to linger. Report inappropriate content. cdillard.

You may spend more than 3 hours if you stop at every exhibit, take a long lunch and then ride the train and play at every stop in the Kids Zone. For us, usually to see most of the exhibits and stop at one attraction in the Kids Zone it takes between 90 minutes to 2 hours.
